As we all know, this is where the story gets a bit scary. Oz tells Dorothy to bring him the broomstick of the Wicked Witch.

Did you really like the flying bat creatures. Me neither. This is also when we discover the importance of the warning Glenda the good Witch gave Dorothy: "Keep the ruby slippers on because they must contain great magic." We all cheered when the Wicked Witch gets her hands zapped trying to take the slippers from Dorothy :-) and we were dismayed to learn of the Witch's plan to dispose of Dorothy to get the slippers. :-(

But, with the help of her friends, fetched by Toto, Dorothy escapes. The chase scene through the castle appears doomed for Dorothy and her friends, but the Wicked Witch's own meanness is her undoing. When she attempts to set fire to the Scarecrow and Dorothy accidently splashes some water on the Witch, we cheer again. Goodness triumphs again and the Gaurds, released from the Witch's evil spell, give Dorothy the Witch's broom.
